Church of the Transfiguration: The Vestry - the governing body of the church

The vestry is the agent and legal representative of the parish in all matters concerning the relations of the parish to its clergy, as well as its corporate property. This elected ruling body does not hesitate to give our Rector advice in return for inspiration.

Parishioners can have their ideas and opinions considered at the monthly Vestry meetings through direct contact with any Vestry member. Indeed, many actions taken by the Vestry are the direct result of such initiatives begun by individuals. The Vestry tries to arrive at a consensus on all things of importance. When the Vestry feels it is necessary, parish meetings are held to insure that the views of all parishioners are being taken into consideration.
